Meeting my youngest client

When I first started my shamanic training, working remotely was something reserved for only experienced mesa carriers. All of our work was done either in class or in our practice, in our treatment rooms. I remember when I graduated, it never occurred to me to offer a remote service to my clients. Work with my youngest client changed my thinking.
Fast forward to 2016 when a family member was pregnant, and her fetus was diagnosed with a rare birth defect (1 in 10,000 babies) that was life threatening. If her baby survived the birth, he would be at risk until surgery could attempt to fix this problem, and the medical experts wanted to delay surgery for up to 1 year from the birth.
When I heard this story I was devastated, and I offered to make contact remotely with this baby still in the womb. This would have to be done remotely; his mother lived and worked in another state. So, on a daily basis I would track to his energy and 'light up' positive outcomes for his birth and first year. It was interesting to me that I found him effortlessly. Junior had a definite vibration, a definite quality of energy that became familiar to me, and we passed a few months with me contacting him as part of my morning 'routine.' His responses to this contact were small and quiet but definite, and I came to recognize them in our work together.
Finally, his birth. The birth would be at a hospital in NYC that specialized in this type of birth defect. The birth hurdle was cleared, Junior was born and being evaluated in the NICU unit. Then the phenomenal news started to come. There were maybe a dozen possible complications that plagued babies with this defect, Junior had none. He passed hurdle after hurdle effortlessly to the amazement of everyone. I was so pleased! Junior had indeed been blessed with ...good fortune? or early shamanic work? I posited to myself that my tracking and visualization work with him helped him, made a difference, but who could know? A day or two after he was born, I made the trip to visit mother and baby in the hospital. The NICU nurse brought me back to Junior's incubator, where he was hooked to monitors and tubes galore. The nurse spoke softly to him and then left. I leaned over and whispered "good to finally see you, Junior." Junior's response was noteworthy: his body stilled, he tilted his head and opened his eyes. The flood of communication from him to me, and me to him, in those moments of our first physical was something I have carried with me until today.
Junior was able to wait a year for the corrective surgery and today is a phenomenal, active personable 4-year old who loves life and action. I did not maintain my shamanic bond with him. I stopped tracking to his energy once he was born and "out of the woods." When I met him "in ordinary life" several weeks later, I met him only as one of his doting relatives.
But Junior remains my youngest-ever client, and the strongest affirmation that I needed that indeed, a shaman can track energy regardless from a distance, even when it is new life in the womb.
